George R. Sotsky

Mr. Sotsky graduated from the University of Louisville in June 1958 with a BEE in Electrical Engineering and honored as outstanding Military Science graduate. He served 3 years active duty and 5 years reserve with the U.S. Marine Corps, later serving as Commanding Officer of the 47th Rifle Company, United States Marine Corps Reserve. He worked at Naval Ordnance Station in Louisville from 1962 to 1970 where he supervised 50 engineers in the design of Naval Gun & Missile Control Systems. Mr. Sotsky received a patent (AN/DSM 77 Test Set for Television Guided Missile). Entrepreneurial naturally, He became President and CEO of Republic Welding Company in 1970.

For the next 32 years, Mr. Sotsky with his partner James Steedly lead the growth and development of Republic Welding Company (RWC) from an approximate 12,000 square foot facility with less than 20 employees to a aggressive company and subsidiary corporations of over 250 employees, with locations in Louisville, KY; Lexington, KY; Prestonsburg, KY; Dallas, TX; Houston, TX; New Orleans, LA; Charlotte, NC; and Kansas City, KS.

During this period RWC sales grew from $450,000 to over $40,000,000. Product offerings expanded from truck and diesel parts distribution, heavy-duty automotive machine work, to include engineering and manufacturing, heavy machine and welding, aggregate machinery, hydraulic cylinder manufacturing and remanufacturing, pneumatic conveying, air and liquid filtration, and industrial and fluid power parts distribution. Special market focus included steel plants, forging mills, aggregate machinery for coal mining and off-highway construction, track pad restoration for NASA, and the development of products used in the recycling industry.

Douglas B. King

Mr. King has been a successful business leader with over 20 years experience in the consumer products, automotive, capital equipment and service industries with a proven track record in exceeding expectations in quality, financial, operational and customer measurements.

He has an electrical engineering degree from Purdue University.

Mr. King has worked for several companies during his tenure ranging widely in size; $7million to $100 billion to his own manufacturing consulting company. King has worked with Republic Machine, Inc. for the last 4 years in the technical, sales, and operational functions.

A significant portion of his career was built around his time with General Electric. From 1996 to 1998, Mr. King was Manager, Technical Programs and led the implementation of six sigma training for all Technical Leadership Program (TLP) members. He started a program in South America, met with business leaders and support staffs to sell the benefits of program and trained appropriate personnel to start the program. He was responsible for $10 million training and development operation plan.

From 1986 to 1996, Mr. King was at General Electric Appliances in Louisville, KY. He was a global leader in the major appliance industry with $6 billion in sales. Appliance Park is a union workforce of 10,000 with over 6 million square feet of manufacturing space.

Mr. King began his career with General Electric Lighting as a Systems Manager in 1983 in Lexington, KY. Upon graduation from Purdue University, he started his career at Kinetic Systems Corporation as a Systems Engineer in Lockport, IL.

Mr. King is Past President of the Purdue Engineering Alumni Association.

 

 

Bradley

Jason W. Bradley

Mr. Bradley is a proven leader in marketing, sales and sales management of comprehensive product solutions for the plastics industry with more than ten years of experience. During his recent tenure with the ACS Group, Mr. Bradley was responsible for developing and implementing an international marketing and sales strategy for Eastern Europe, the Middle East and South America.

Mr. Bradley’s career has been focused on the size reduction markets, understanding their dynamics, selling cycles, and applications. His leadership background in sales management and product knowledge have been developed from his years of experiences serving as the AEC International Sales Manager, ACS’s Size Reduction Sales and Product Manager, an AEC Regional Sales Manager – All Lines, Technical Sales Manager – Size Reduction, and as an Outside Sales Representative.

Mr. Bradley holds a BA from Drury College in Springfield, Missouri, was honorably discharged from the United States Army National Guard with eight years of service, and was an Eagle Scout.

 

William “Bill” Cox
Senior Design
Engineer

Mr. Cox is a Mechanical/Product Design Engineer with a BSME from Purdue University. He has a progressive experience working in manufacturing environments. Starting in 2000, Mr. Cox was employed with International – Navistar as a mechanical engineer—intern with the following responsibilities:

  • Review of diesel engine design – rotational components
  • Performed tolerance stack-ups and failure analysis
  • Utilized SDRC I-DEAS drafting package
  • Gained knowledge of tolerancing and manufacturing, as well as documentation methods

After completing his degree work at Purdue, Mr. Cox was employed by AEC INC., of Wood Dale, IL as a mechanical engineer responsible for sustaining and design engineering of industrial equipment, managed engineering of multiple product lines from conception through production, successfully restructured and implemented planning bill of materials to coincide with manufactured equipment offerings and lead times, directed product training for service and sales personnel, performed troubleshooting of customer equipment during on-site visits, worked with purchasing and vendors on quality issues, reports, and problem solving, assisted marketing with new product roll outs, including compiling pricing, literature, technical specifications, and training sales team, handled complete redesign of Gravimetric Batch Blender line, spearheaded implementation of new CAD, CAM, and PLM packages, and utilized SolidWorks and AutoCAD drafting packages, and AS400 MRP software.

Mr. Cox’s experience has led to a thorough knowledge of best manufacturing and assembly processes, the development of assembly drawings, exploded views, and documentation using AutoCAD, Pro-E, SolidWorks, and AS400 (BPCS). He developed a familiarity with simple control programming, root cause analysis, finite element analysis, corrective actions, and lean manufacturing.

 

Kevin Marks
Shop Foreman

Mr. Marks, a native of Louisville has an extension background in all facets of manufacturing, remanufacturing, services, and installations. Kevin is a master at problem solving, shop operations and “doing what it takes” to get the best possible job completed. He was the Shop Foreman for Republic Industries’s Heavy Machine and Weld Shop operations for more than 5 years and an employee for more than 25 years.

Mr. Marks brings a wealth of practical knowledge to Republic’s fabrication, manufacturing, field trouble shooting and dedicated service.

Before graduating from Purdue University in 2001, Mr. Cox was awarded the William P. Corcoran Design Award – Excellence in Technical Leadership, and the William P. Corcoran Design Award – Outstanding Team Performance.
